Return the Artist, Song and Lyrics – 5/4/11

Return the lyrics and song from this artist who just had a guest spot this past Monday on the hit TV show “Hawaii Five-O”:

And she’s watching him with those eyes
And she’s lovin’ him with that body,
I just know it
Yeah ‘n’ he’s holding her
in his arms late,
late at night

You know, I wish ____ _ ___ ______ ____

Here is yesterday’s “Islands in the Stream” lyrics

Tender love is blind it requires a dedication
All this love we feel needs no conversation
We ride it together, uh huh
Makin’ love with each other, uh huh

Islands in the stream that is what we are
No one In Between, How Can We Be Wrong

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton

The Bee Gees (who wrote this song)

Radio Ga Ga by Queen

So don’t become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don’t know or just don’t care
And just complain when you’re not there
You had your time, you had the power
You’ve yet to have your finest hour
(Radio)

All we Hear is Radio Ga Ga

Return the Song, Artist and Lyrics – 4/29/11

On the day of the big wedding, can you return the song, artist, and the lyrics from this British band?

So don’t become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don’t know or just don’t care
And just complain when you’re not there
You had your time, you had the power
You’ve yet to have your finest hour

Here is yesterday’s…

Wind Beneath My Wings by Sheena Easton:

Did you ever know that you’re my hero?
And everything I’d like to be,
I can fly Higher than an Eagle

Here is the Bonus:

It’s Tricky by Run D.M.C.

I met this little girlie, her hair was kinda curly
Went to her house and bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said “It’s not that easy”
It’s Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that’s right on time

Return the Song, Artist and Lyrics

Today’s artist is celebrating a birthday today. This song was a #1 hit (and more popular) by somebody else. But this Scottish songstress wasn’t too shabby herself. Can you name the artist(s) song and finish the lyrics:

Did you ever know that you’re my hero?
And everything I’d like to be,
I can fly ______ ____ __ _____

Here’s a bonus one that may be more difficult. This is from a rap trio:

I met this little girlie, her hair was kinda curly
Went to her house and bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said “It’s not that easy”

Here is yesterday’s…

Ah, can’t you see me standin’ here
I got my back against the record machine
I ain’t the Worst That You’ve Seen

Return the Song, Artist and Lyrics

Hi Everybody, thank you so much for your input! It seems that most, if not everybody would like to see me mix things up. So sometimes I’ll give the artist and song, and sometimes you can guess the artist and song along with the lyrics.
And I will call this “Return the …” with the “…” being whatever you have to guess that day. It is a play on the “Return” from my web site title. There was a good suggestion of “Remember That Song”, which I kind of like. So I may change it to that.

Today, can you name the Song and Artist, and finish the lyric. I’m sorry if this is too easy. I’m still getting the feel of this. There will be some more difficult ones coming.

Ah, can’t you see me standin’ here
I got my back against the record machine
I ain’t the _____ ____ ______ ____

Don’t Forget the Lyrics – ’80s Style

Attention ’80s Music Fans

Time for a new segment! I could use your help though, so please don’t be shy about your input.

Each weekday, I will give the lyrics to the song. There are 3 options that I’m thinking of.

1. I could list the lyrics, and you can name the song and artist

2. I could give the song and artist , and some of the lyrics, then you can finish the line. Kind of similar to Don’t Forget the Lyrics.

3. I could give some of the lyrics, then you can give the rest of the line, and give the song and artist.

Here are the examples I have in mind (these should be pretty easy to start). You can go ahead and answer these:

1.

Love is like a bomb, baby, c’mon get it on
Livin’ like a lover with a radar phone
Lookin’ like a tramp, like a video vamp
Demolition woman, can I be your man?

2.

Tell Her About It by Billy Joel

Tell her about it, tell her everything you feel
Give her every reason to accept that you’re for real
Tell her about it, tell her ___ ____ _____ ______

3.

Just a small town girl, livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
Just a city boy, ____ ___ _______ __ _____ _______

So, which format do you like better? And let me know if you have an ideas of what this segment should be named.

You can either leave a comment, answer the poll (anonymously), or both.
